Bi-split operation
SASI is one of the very modern operations in weight loss and getting rid of obesity, and the process combines sleeve gastrectomy and bypass.
How is the SASI process done?
During SASI, part of the stomach is cut as it happens in the sleeve gastrectomy, and then the remaining part is delivered to the intestine directly, as happens in the process of bypassing, and thus food does not remain in the stomach for a long time, which reduces the body's absorption of it and the calories in it.
Connecting the stomach to the intestine does not cancel the natural course of digestion but creates an additional pathway for approximately 70% of food to pass through and only 30% remains.
They pass through the natural course of food.
Advantages of the SASI process
- By combining sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass, the patient no longer needs to suffer from the problem of vitamin and nutrient deficiency suffered by those who undergo bypass surgery, and taking them for a short period after the operation is usually determined by the doctor.
- Help improve the conditions of some diseases such as diabetes.
- Significantly decrease weight and get rid of associated problems such as high blood pressure, breathing disorders and bone problems.
- A person can return to work one week after the currency and only needs to stay in the hospital one day after the operation.
